(For about four different reasons...)

Can't decide whether I want to make bagels or the olive/onion rolls first - having stocks of either of them in the freezer is a very attractive proposition. :-DCindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147906610629741961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-24892025797037166642008-05-08T08:48:00.000+10:002008-05-08T08:48:00.000+10:00Nice photos/write-up... when you break it down lik...Nice photos/write-up... when you break it down like that it really sounds like a productive day, especially with it all laid out at the end!

I think the no-knead bread is a great start for anyone... personally I find it too low-effort, it takes away some of the fun of breadmaking for me, but it does make a really good loaf with seriously little effort, just a bit of pre-planning and a good pot to cook in.

it would actually be great to add the garlic from the garlic bread recipe to that no-knead bread... maybe thats a good option for when we are too lazy to go through the garlic bread recipe (which actually is really long but manageable once you get your head around it).

Can't wait to see some bread fresh from your kitchen!Struhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16663675069518941507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-6864554098898033292008-05-07T09:58:00.000+10:002008-05-07T09:58:00.000+10:00Hi Agnes! I'm lucky, aren't I?

Johanna, maybe you could begin by cheating - make the garlic as directed and mush it onto some store-bought bread. :-)

Yep, KJ, and at just the time to get interested in winter baking!

Thanh, I think the no-knead bread is a good start! It takes a LOT of time to rest, but requires little active attention from the cook. (So you can leave it overnight and bake it in the morning.) Just don't be shy when spreading flour onto the tea towel. :-)Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147906610629741961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-69885280451309540862008-05-06T23:34:00.000+10:002008-05-06T23:34:00.000+10:00Wow these breads look good. I've steered clear of making bread just because its so much effort and I don't like the waiting in between.

I just looked at the garlic bread recipe too and boy is it long. I might give that a miss. I might give the no need bread a try though. How long did it take to make the no knead bread Cindy?thanh7580https://www.blogger.com/profile/12101572834580539226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-11927755533900568802008-05-06T19:43:00.000+10:002008-05-06T19:43:00.000+10:00wow, all these breads sound fantastic!!
