Its purpose is to continue whipping the ice-cream mixture as it freezes to make the texture as creamy as possible.

The second-best method is to use an electric beater: whip the ice-cream mixture and freeze for a couple of hours, until it has set but not too hard. Then whip it again with your electric beater and re-freeze. The more times you repeat these steps, the creamier the ice-cream will be.

If you try making ice-cream with this method I'd love to read about it, here or in your blog. :-)Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147906610629741961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-30119449105166360922007-03-26T06:26:00.000+10:002007-03-26T06:26:00.000+10:00Cindy, I would love to do this - but I don't have ...Cindy, I would love to do this - but I don't have an ice-cream maker. You may think me a Luddite - but I have never even seen one. Having got to my great age & antiquity without one, needless to say I am not rushing over to The Good Guys to get one. Have you any suggestions or could you give consideration to a method which would include either my trusty Kenwood Chef or my ever more trusty and old-fashioned rotary beater? Thank you for dropping by the biscuit cutters.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05972285659958872775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-59210062598981288142007-03-24T10:28:00.000+11:002007-03-24T10:28:00.000+11:00Those are both great ideas, Truffle! Those are both great ideas, Truffle!Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147906610629741961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33131521.post-57209232373032724282007-03-23T22:26:00.000+11:002007-03-23T22:26:00.000+11:00One of my favourites!
